I would like to add some other words to Easton's creative technical vocabulary list, before I forget them...

FLEXSTER: We have no idea what that means.
SCABBAGE: We have no idea what that means, however we do know that it has something to do with the eyes.
TORESTACK: That's right Torestack. We have no idea what that means either.

Getting back

It's time to try to pick up this blog again! Now that both my kids may possibly,(please Lord!) nap at the same time, it might work...maybe. I initially started this to keep grandparents, relatives and close friends in the loop, and just for myself to document the funny things Easton says and does. I should write down the funny stuff right when he does it, but time flies and then I forget. I am ahead of myself already! My last post shared some photos of Easton announcing that we were expecting. Well...HE is here! Eli Emory Eggehorn was born early. July 6th at 2:06 am weighing in at a whopping 4 pounds even, and 16.5 inches. It's a long story, but he is four and a half months old now and 14.5 pounds of healthy, chunky goodness! He is such a joy, I hope you all can meet him someday.

Back to the spunky comedian Easton, here's a couple clever words he has made up that I don't want to forget about!

CLOMP/CLOMPING/CLOMPERS: to CLOMP, a crab has CLOMPERS (claws), a spider has CLOMPERS (pincers), "He's going to CLOMP me!" (pound/punch)

WENGER/WANGER: Me: "What's that Easton?" Him: "It's a machine WANGER Mommy." ah, Machine Wanger, yes obviously that's what it is...??? Still don't know what it is.

January 2012

He says the cutest little things...

Kris was out of town for a week so we watched a new movie called Mars Needs Moms. It's about a little boy who's mom gets abducted by martians and is taken to Mars. Long story short, He saves his mom just in the nick of time.

So E and I were cuddling in my bed before he went to bed that night. He usually likes to try to jump on the big bed whenever he can but I told him he had to be quiet and cuddle if he wanted to be in the big bed. So he whispers, "Mommy?" I say "yes." He says, "If Aliens taked you to Mars I would come save you."

That right there makes all those other frustrating-3-year-old-tantrum-defiant-screaming times so worth it! Watch out aliens!

My Hero.

8th of November: date with Mommy

Kris went on a quick one night business trip to Texas so Easton and I decided to make it a fun night of ice cream for dinner (had some tomatos and applesauce later to balance things out:), rented Cars 2, read All of his favorite books etc...just a fun night. But he said many funny things that I have to document so I remember, and I am sure you will get a laugh too.

1): "Mommy, your purse is heavy." I say, "really?" he replies with, "Mommy you're strong!"

2): It was about 6:30 pm and we were in the car headed home after our ice cream cone dinner. "Mommy, I want go to store." I say, "Which store would you like to go to?" He replies, "Starbucks." I literally laughed out loud.

3): The next night we went to his buddy Sophie's birthday party. After her brother Nick said grace, he asked for everyone to go around the table and say something they are thankful for. After everyone went he asked Easton what he was thankful for. Without hesitation, and with gusto he said, "Sophie!"

Oh what a fun age (most days)...I am thankful for this age where he still believes with all his heart that Mommy's kisses can make anything better...

Is it Yummy?

Monika (Kris' sister) was here visiting last week. When she arrived she brought gifts from Seattle and from the grandparents. So she asked Easton, "Would you like to open some gifts? Do you want some presents?" He clearly and quickly replied with, "Is it yummy?" Much laughter followed.

It's the little things...

...that make me love being Mommy to a clever, sweet boy.
That is the most logical place to hang your shades I guess, lots of available hangers!
He is always leaving his little treasures around reminding me of where his imagination took him that morning...looks like today was a yellow muscle car on a tall cliff!
